Liam Gardner of The Statics on The Big Picture TV

The Big Picture TV is an online youth TV channel, featuring interviews and live acoustic sessions with bands and solo performers. The videos are filmed and edited by young people aged 14 - 18 years from South Dublin, under the guidance of television producer Elton Mullally and Gerry Horan of CONTACT Studio.

Filmed in The Big Picture in Tallaght, this programme is being run by Foroige in partnership with CONTACT Studio, and is being supported by South Dublin County's Arts Office.

Formed in late 2010, The Statics are a four-piece Dublin outfit consisting of Liam Gardner (Lead Vocal/Guitar), Daragh O’Connell (Backing Vocal/ Guitar), Jacqueline Campion (Drums) and Thomas Nugent (Bass Guitar). Mixing the pop sensibilities of the Beatles, the snarling vocals of The Arctic Monkeys and not forgetting the rhythmic acoustic guitars of the Everlys (and hopefully their harmonies!) The Statics are a truly powerful force live and on record. The Statics sound clocks in somewhere between The La’s, The Arctic Monkeys, The Kinks and the Coral; all this without losing their own vision, imagination, originality and downright danceability.
