Mental

Recently screened at NOISE Flicks 2013, Rabidus Productions -   Transition year students of Adamstown Community College decide to enter a film that not only spring a few surprises but also dare to broach the subject of the struggles faced by those with mental health problems.
Written and Edited by Daren Byrne Mental specifically depicts the disturbed thinking, perception, and behaviour that characterises some mental disorders.
Mental depicts Amy (Lauren Hennessy) a young and vulnerable 16 year old who battles with her multiple personalities (Literately). Not all is doom and gloom though as some of these personalities bring their own benefits e.g.; a maths wiz- kid character who always makes Amy look fantastic at trigonometry. Sometimes as with all mental orders, things get totally out of control and Amy needs to visit her School therapist to try manage and recover from her disorder.  But things take a strange twist as we see Amy struggle.
The movie is brimming with talent as we see skilled screenshots by Camera Crew Corrine Banganay and Abbie Daly focusing intently when things get out of hand.
Technical elements of the film are good. The visuals are thematically impressive thanks to designer Elizabeth Adebowale and Graphics Corrine Banganay.. Acting is credible and the cast which include Lauren Hennessy , Darren Byrne, ID Inyangotu, Ally Lowry , Diana Adebowale, Muwa Malaka , Corrine Banganay and Emily Kane  give  a really fine performance.
