Ruaille Buaille 2014

This year the festival will see the return of Graffiti Classics Comedy String Quartet. Throughout the festival week these highly accomplished performers will share their secret store of popular classical music and songs with the young people of Lucan. The festival culminates with a full day-long programme of Music Work Stations & Demonstrations in Griffeen Park, a Farewell Family Concert with Graffiti Classics and the Festival Finale Concert with the highly energetic young traditional band Seo Linn on Saturday 31st May.

The ever popular schools and libraries workshop programme returns to Ruaille Buaille again this year featuring Simply Music Hands on 4 Fun, Dabbledoo new multimedia musical experience, Songschool Create Perform Record  as well as an entertaining programme for pre-school children. The festival also welcomes Michael Moley O’Suilleabhain singer, rapper, human beatboxer, musician and actor, for a series of super fun performances and workshops. Moley will also direct the Ruaille Buaille Voices festival programme with South Dublin County vocal coaches and schools from Lucan and the rest of the county.

Wassa Wassa African Day offers a chance for all ages to take part in an entertaining and educational presentation of West African percussion, song and dance. This inspirational mix of African and Irish influences, and their charismatic performances, teaching children to sing along and learn dance moves have made them a big favourite for many festivals. Ruaille Buaille! festival launch party offers another chance for children to explore their musical side and have fun with sounds in Lucan Library on Tuesday May 27th, the event will be launched by Mayor Dermot Looney and entertainment will be provided by Newcastle Ukulele Group, Ludwig Von Flugglehorn and children and families will have the opportunity to meet with many of the festival performers.
