Cruinniú na nÓg 2020 JEMZ – Young Female Voices in Music

JEMZ is a compilation album of new songs by 4 young female musicians from South County Dublin. Jo-Ellen Donohoe, Eimear O’Neill, Megan McGarry and Zoe Lord Bisset are participants in SubSounds, Alternative Entertainments music collective for 14-18 year-olds. As part of that collective they have worked with their peers crafting, recording and performing new songs, some of which will feature on this year’s SubSounds: Class of 2020 album released in April 2020. JEMZ is not a band project. The album will present 2 new songs from each of them. The songs will be performed by young musicians from SubSounds, and it will be engineered and mixed by another participant, now mentor, from SubSounds – Domhnaill Corrigan. JEMZ showcases and celebrates the emerging young female music talent in South County Dublin, and is the first of a series of releases from  the SubSounds Music Collective that will focus on specific young composers.

4 of the songs off the album will be recorded and broadcast for Cruinniú TV South Dublin: Create, Make, Participate.
