Emergence Mentor Ailish Claffey

Ailish Claffey is Dance Artist in Residence at The National Centre for Arts and Health, Tallaght University Hospital kindly funded by South Dublin County Council and The Arts Council, Ireland. With an interest in health, well-being and older people, Ailish specialises in choreological studies. Based in The Age Related Health Care Unit Ailish works in a collaborative capacity exploring and creating work that examines the complexity of human relationships.

As choreographer and dance maker Claffey has a keen interest in expression and enjoys capturing the lived experience of those living with health challenges. Claffey’s dance film documentary The Dance Back Home received a Certificate of Excellence from the HSE Excellence Awards 2018. The film was commissioned by South Dublin Co. Co. and made in collaboration with visual artist Deirdre Glenfield in association with The National Centre for Arts and Health.
